Today’s swimming pools are designed to be increasingly energy-efficient, whether in terms of size, depth or annual consumption. In fact, it’s our responsibility to offer you solutions that reconcile the pleasure of having a pool at home with good water management.
Piscine Ambiance pools already incorporate the very best currently available in terms of consumption, taking all forms of energy into account. So we’re going to tell you what you need to do to make your pool sustainable.
According to a recent report by the Fédération des Professionnels, the number of swimming pools installed in France represents 0.12% of total water use in the country each year, compared with 20% caused by leaks in French drinking water networks.
The right equipment to adopt
Eco-reserve
This water recovery tank automatically collects the water drained from the pool overflow, making the pool completely self-sufficient in water. As the tank is underground, it requires no treatment or maintenance.
Filtration
80% of water quality depends on the quality of filtration and circulation.
Enjoy long-lasting filtration while limiting your water and electricity consumption, thanks to a combination of equipment: the cartridge filter, the variable speed pump and thermoregulation (automatic management of filtration time according to water temperature).
The Easy Clean multi-cartridge filter
The Clean & Clear filter uses only 1m3 of water per year, unlike a sand filter, which uses 7m3 of water per year. The difference lies in the frequency with which the filter is cleaned.
A cartridge filter only needs to be cleaned once or twice a year, unlike a sand filter, which has to be cleaned every 10 to 15 days.
Cartridges generally need to be replaced every 4 to 5 years.

The variable speed pump
The variable speed pump has a multi-speed motor that allows you to adapt filtration to your needs (volume of water, use of the pool and desired filtration rate).
As well as being ultra-quiet, it will save you energy while reducing your ecological impact. The water is continuously agitated, which limits the spread of algae and the use of chemicals.
By combining the variable speed pump with our crystal concept temperature control box, you can fully automate your pool’s daily filtration time according to the water temperature.
Roofing and water heating
By protecting your pool with a cover, you can reduce water evaporation by 99%. Covering your pool is essential not only to meet safety standards, but also to preserve your water and electricity resources.
The cover prevents debris from accumulating in the pool, so you use less chemical treatment.
At the same time, they help to limit heat loss, and with some models you can even save up to 7°C free of charge.
Solar heated roller shutters
Complying with current safety standards, the polycarbonate slats are particularly warming when you choose a dark colour.
Thanks to solar energy, you can gain up to 7°C extra free of charge.
They can be installed on both new and existing pools.
In addition to their energy performance, this type of louver is incredibly impact-resistant.
Above-ground shutter with solar motor
If you want a waterproof shutter, you can fit a solar panel to motorise the opening and closing of your shutter. Placed outside and facing south, it needs very little sunlight.
4 hours in the sun is equivalent to 60 free openings and closings of your shutter.
Water treatment
At Piscine Ambiances, we prefer to treat your pool with salt electrolysis, because the bathing comfort and maintenance are incomparable. Combined with Easy Clean filtration, you won’t be discharging salt water into the water system, which is sometimes strictly forbidden.
Salt electrolyser
Salt electrolysis treatment is an ecological and effective solution for keeping your pool clean. By replacing traditional chemical products with this type of treatment, you are using a more environmentally-friendly approach.
Salt electrolysis limits the use of chemicals such as chlorine and does not generate any emissions of substances that are harmful to the environment.
Electrolysis systems also use electricity efficiently to produce chlorine, reducing your energy consumption.
Lighting your pool
To enjoy your pool until the end of the night, Piscine Ambiances offers a more energy-efficient lighting system by replacing your bulbs with LEDs.
Nightled∂
Our Nightled∂ innovation uses LED spotlights that consume between 18W and 70W and can be used for up to 50,000 or even 100,000 hours depending on the model.
Halogen floodlights, on the other hand, consume around 300W and only operate for up to 1,500 hours.
